Hi Listener
Been a little busy lately hence no postings but last Thursday had a great day. I completed on the purchase of a new, ( in this case "new" means new to me) 590ft2 workshop plus small garden to rear. Needs loads of work but it's mine and will do up great. I also got 6 big woodworking machines, real toys for boys:-)
Here are the "Before" pics.
The first 2 are the front of the unit looking from the main road.
The next 2 are of the garden at the rear
Then come the machines, firstly Spindle Moulder and Tenoning Attachment, these are both Wadkin
Then Thicknesser Planer and Table Saw both Sedgwick

Then Morticing Machine is Wadkin and Radial Arm Saw DeWalt

Finally the star of the show for me the Startrite Band Saw
Next job is to find somewhere to put my lathes :-). Got to go and play with my new toys now so speak to you soon

Here's the inside, already started piling up the rubbish for the skip. If anyone has any views about how to set up a workshop I would be very pleased to receive them.

Hi Listener
Had some great news this week. Both my entries for the 2012 SKarts Open Contemprary Art Exhibition have been accepted. Here are my entries
From what I have seen there is some great work there. Well worth a visit if you are around Stockport from 11th May to June 24th.

Hi Listener
Just thought I'd mention the great day I had at a Mark Hancock workshop at Peter Childs last Thursday. We were doing hollow forms and as usual Mark has us working till the sun went down, well nearly. The day was organised by Brain Partridge and co-ordinated by Brian Hensby all done through the AWGB. My thanks to all concerned for a fantastic day and I'm sure that's echoed by my partners in crime Peter Frost, David Floyd, Malcolm Moore and Terry Harrigan. We all had a great time and even managed some turning.
Here are a couple of pics of the day and a pic of the piece I made, though I had to wait until today to finish it off.

Hi all
Finally getting round to my first proper Blog entry. Did a demonstration at Axminster Warrington yesterday with Dave ATCO Atkinson. Had a great time, lots of guys from the club came along, too many to mention but thanks to all. Thanks also to Phil and his team for supplying endless coffee and getting everything sorted out so well.
I also bought a new toy, the Axminster 1416VS, and used it for the demo. What a great piece of kit. As you can see from the photo I managed to make a 9" diameter Ash bowl from half a log on it. It really is a first class lathe and I would recommend it to anyone.
Happy turnings
